The Center for Social-Profit Leadership Model

The Center for Social-Profit Leadership, working with a broad cross section of corporate sponsors and growing foundational awareness, has a real opportunity to make a profound difference in the health and efficiency of this expanding social-profit arena. Initially, by holding professional seminars and conferences, developing access to capital opportunities, bringing together practitioners, academics and consultants, the CSPL will engage a level of exchange, knowledge transfer, practical support, and shared experience that will be invaluable to the social entrepreneurs who will become engaged. Annual conferences will provide an opportunity for more social entrepreneurs at varying stages of development to gain a sense of the community within which they are operating, a vast array of lessons learned and probably the most important aspect of any conference, the chance to network with those people who are of like mind.

The model for the consulting and training operation is based on a unique network of consulting groups, academicians, and corporations who believe in the work of the social entrepreneurs they are supporting. The manner in which this process works is that when a corporate sponsor makes a donation to the CSPL in the name of a specific social entrepreneur or social-profit organization, the CSPL provides access to the entrepreneur and/or organization to its faculty of academics and professionals and its array of training and consulting services without charge. The donation provides the corporate supporter with a tax deduction and the opportunity to assist the entrepreneur/organization it already is working with by helping it to improve its business practices and thereby improve its sustainability. With the engagement cost covered by the sponsor, CSPL has a means for making a real difference through leadership in the communities in which it and its supporters operate, by providing tuition free access to social entrepreneurs.

The curriculum for the professional Social Entrepreneur includes:

A Compelling Journey Strategic Program
Culture Creation Training
Leadership Coaching and Training
Creativity and Spontaneity Training
Mindfulness/Awareness Instruction
Networking and Connections
Fund Raising 101
Business Plan Development and Implementation
Organization 101

Supporting the Business Needs of Social Entrepreneurs

Each social entrepreneur who participates in the center curriculum will also be linked to a personal mentor/coach for one year.  The overall concept is simple: for CSPL to provide the social entrepreneur with all the professional business tools necessary to be a success in the community. With the growing and ever-present need in our communities for more and better answers to our pressing social issues, we are all dependent on the success of these people. Offering the highest quality networking and learning possibilities for those who may have the vision but not the expertise could make the difference between a collapsing community of failed ideas and a healthy and innovative community thriving within the possible.
